Professional Bio
Hello and welcome! My name is Augustina Garba. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater with a master’s degree in counseling in May 2002. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.
I started my career in mental health working with individuals diagnosed with bipolar and schizophrenic disorders, as well as abused and neglected children. I now provide individual, family and couples’ therapy, working with a variety of clientele experiencing issues ranging from depression, anxiety, PTSD, panic attacks and stress. I also work with many individuals and couples on relationship building, and I counsel couples with relationship and divorce issues, anger management issues, and domestic violence issues. My focus in counseling is to work with clients to resolve issues that challenge them and restore self-efficacy to individuals and families.
My passion has always been to help bring changes in the lives of individuals and families and partner with them to create hope in their future. As your therapist, I promise to work with you to resolve issues that challenge you and restore your ability to execute behavioral change and succeed. I will support you throughout the therapeutic process and listen intently to your issues, experiences, and goals. I will collaborate with you using teachable skills, and give you tangible assignments to help you succeed in achieving your goals. Ultimately, we’ll work to find a long-term, meaningful solution.
I believe that support and trust are the foundation for all great relationships, and that everyone wants to be loved, trusted, and supported. During our time together, I’ll continuously work with you to build a trusting and reliable client-therapist relationship so we can effectively address your needs.
When I am not with clients, I enjoy cooking and spending time with family and friends. I can’t wait to learn more about you!
