Professional Bio
Hi! My name is Dr. Lynn Sweeden and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have over 20 years of experience working in mental health helping clients deal with issues like ADHD, Anger Management, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, substance abuse, grief, and much more. I also have experience working with clients that span the age spectrum from young children, to teens, to adults of all ages.
As a therapist I enjoy cultivating an environment where we can be authentic with one another. I try to communicate with purpose, listen, and zero in on the things that matter most to you. As we enter the therapeutic process, we’ll prioritize issues that most urgently impact these values and your overall wellbeing.
Unconditional warm regard is something I live by. I am kind to others by default and I’m often described as having a warm and inviting personality. Being a therapist has taught me that we have more similarities than we do differences. Much of therapy is realizing that despite our differences with others, our similarities are an equalizing force.
When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my husband. We have matching recliners and it’s so nice to rest and recuperate from everything that’s going on. The art of happily doing nothing when there is so much going on is a skill I hope to master.
I’m looking forward to getting to know you more!
