Professional Bio

Hi there, my name is Dr. Smith and Iā€™m a clinical psychologist licensed in Texas, Ohio, and Kansas. I’m also a member of Psypact, which allows me the unique ability to practice in 31 other participating states. I have nearly two decades of experience working with specialized populations. I earned my Doctor of Psychology degree in 2005 from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, MO, and I started my career and completed my postgraduate training at Metrocare Services in Dallas, TX. During my time at Metrocare, I became the Chief Psychologist and developed new programs and trainings geared towards coping with developmental disabilities.

I joined WellQor in May 2019 as a lead psychologist for Texas, and Iā€™m now a Clinical Director overseeing a large team of mental health professionals. My team is responsible for the evaluation, care planning, and treatment of adults with mental health issues ranging from mild depression and anxiety to more serious diagnoses like schizophrenia & Alzheimerā€™s disease.

The most enjoyable part of being a therapist is helping someone discover their full potential and find a way through what they felt was impossible. I have always loved working with others and have a natural curiosity for the human mind. Itā€™s just so fascinating to explore why we think, behave, and feel the way we do.

As a therapist I can promise to be an open and objective listener. I canā€™t promise that Iā€™ll have all the answers, but my goal is to help guide you to healing and growth. Humans are resilient, and when given the space and opportunity to discover hope they can find the road ahead is not impossible.
