Professional Bio
Hi! My name is Tesia and I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I have experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a primary focus in private practice, as well as crisis intervention work with a mobile crisis unit. While I have experience supporting clients of all ages and genders, I especially enjoy working with women and female identifying individuals from pre teen years through adulthood as they navigate life transitions, anxiety, depression, and the emotional challenges that can come with periods of change.
My own experience with anxiety and depression inspired me to become a therapist after seeing the profound impact my therapist had on my life. Her support helped me understand myself more deeply and find a sense of peace I had not experienced before. I have always been someone friends naturally turned to for support, and over time I realized that helping others heal and grow was where I felt most aligned. I truly believe that most people are doing the best they can with the tools they have, and when they feel supported and learn new ways to cope, they naturally move toward becoming the version of themselves they have always wanted to be.
One of the most meaningful parts of being a therapist is witnessing the transformation that can happen when someone who once felt overwhelmed or hopeless begins to feel grounded again. I especially enjoy helping clients better understand their patterns, let go of coping skills that are no longer serving them, and rebuild a sense of control in their lives. Whether someone is adjusting to college, starting a career, becoming a parent, or simply trying to find stability during a difficult season, I feel honored to walk alongside them during those moments.
I believe therapy is a lot like having a GPS while driving through unfamiliar territory. You are still the one leading the journey, but having guidance and support along the way can help you feel more grounded, confident, and able to navigate life’s challenges until you learn the path for yourself. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe, open, and judgment free space where you feel respected, supported, and comfortable showing up exactly as you are.
I can’t wait to meet you!
