Professional Bio

Hi, my name is Rachel Corwin and I’m a Psychological Associate licensed in California. My experience spans several different mental health settings and levels of care, including substance abuse treatment facilities, colleges, and intensive outpatient programs. Working across that range meant sitting with people at very different points, some in crisis and some doing the slower work of figuring out who they want to be, and it shaped how I practice now. In private practice I diagnose and treat a wide variety of mental health challenges, and I’ve learned not to assume what any two people need just because their concerns look similar on paper.

I believe therapy is a powerful and valuable tool that everyone can benefit from. Everyone feels and experiences the world differently, and the part of this work I trust most in myself is the ability to empathize with what’s specific to you, meet you where you’re at, and build the kind of connection that makes real growth possible. That connection isn’t a preliminary step before the work starts. It’s a good part of what makes the work happen.

With that said, I understand the decision to seek therapy can be a delicate one, and that you may be in a vulnerable place in your life. My first priority is supporting you by creating a safe and non-judgmental environment. In practice, that means I’m not going to rush you, and you get to decide what we go near and when. Early sessions are mostly me getting to know you and what brought you in, and once we have a sense of where you want to go, we’ll shape our work around that and adjust as things change. I want you to feel free to look inward, connect with yourself, and explore your passions and goals in a genuine way. Together we’ll work toward what you’re hoping for, and toward a life that feels like yours.

I’m looking forward to talking with you!
