Professional Bio
Hi there, My name is Amy Lipka and I’m a licensed independent social worker in the state of Ohio. I started my career in mental health in 1996 working as a clinical social worker in New York State. There, I worked with a public agency and helped people in a state of mental health crisis. In 2000, I married and moved to Ohio! I obtained my Ohio LISW credentials and dedicated my time to raising my amazing children. In 2016 I began working for WellQor, providing support to patients experiencing adjustment issues, anxiety, depression, and much more. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to conduct teletherapy, as it allows me to reach people all over the state.
I was inspired to become a social worker and therapist out of a real interest in connecting with people in need. Be it a need of support, guidance, empathy, acceptance, compassion; anything I could possibly offer– I wanted to be in a position where I could help, with whatever resources I had available. I live for the connections I make, the stories I hear, and the unique privilege of developing relationships with people I otherwise never would’ve met.
As your therapist I promise to treat you with absolute respect and dignity, and to respect your values and beliefs. I promise to listen with my whole self, to try to understand deeply what it is you are feeling and sharing with me, and to try to foster a sense of comfort and trust where connection and healing can thrive. I believe that we all often share similar struggles and insecurities and we all crave connection and someone to hear and see us and accept us. With a little bit of help, people are incredibly strong, resilient, and capable of change.
Therapy is an opportunity to see and learn about ourselves through a new set of eyes and ears, so please come talk to me!
