Professional Bio

Hi, My name is Amy and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. Before working for WellQor, I had experience working as a medical social worker and with first hand knowledge of many medical conditions and the way they affect the body and mind. I have received additional certifications and training in Grief and Loss, Trauma Informed Care, EMDR, Reiki, and Mindfulness. I’ve since worked with WellQor for six years, where I’ve developed a passion for working with seniors and mature adults.

I have been a helper and healer all of my life. After being a social worker for several years, becoming a therapist was a natural next step for me. Therapy has reinforced my belief in the general goodness of people and the fact that we’re all in this together. I honestly believe that we are all doing the best we can with the situations we have been given, so I try to bring this mindset into my work.

My style of therapeutic interventions can be described as eclectic- including a mixture of person centered strength based approaches, solution focused therapy, EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, and intuition. I provide a holistic approach to therapy ensuring that the person’s needs, goals, and quality of life remain at the forefront of treatment. I partner with people in order to help navigate and overcome major life transitions, changes in health and mobility, developing mental health issues, and temporary periods of stress or depression often associated with aging.

When I’m not conducting therapy, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, exploring, reading, trying new foods, and going to the theater.

As your therapist, I promise to listen, support, encourage, hold space, and walk with you on this journey- whatever it may bring. I enjoy the connection and being with people in some of the toughest moments of their life. Being a part of someone’s journey is truly the greatest honor and privilege of my life.
