Professional Bio
Hi, I’m Courtney, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. My path as a therapist has taken me through a range of settings, from supporting older adults living with severe mental illness at Bay Area Community Services to facilitating art therapy with youth and adolescents at SkyART and Hearts to Art. Across all of it, I lean on an integrative approach rooted in person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and harm reduction.
I feel most at home working with people carrying the weight of trauma. There is something profound about helping someone reconnect their mind and body through somatic and mindfulness-based work, and watching them reclaim their sense of agency and bodily autonomy along the way. I believe deeply that you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to hand you answers but to walk beside you as you uncover what you already know about yourself.
I came to this work through a lifelong pull toward service and justice. From a young age, those values shaped the choices I made, and over time I came to see therapy as one of the most meaningful ways to live them out. Helping someone find their way back to a sense of peace and power feels, to me, like justice in its most personal form.
Therapy has taught me that we all share the same quiet need to be witnessed and understood. I have seen that healing happens inside relationships that are honest and affirming, and that change is possible for anyone who wants it, no matter their history or where they are starting from. I believe therapy is a space for healing, transformation, and growth, and that you already hold the inner resources to move toward what you need. My job is to listen closely, honor your right to choose your own path, and help you clear away whatever stands in your way. So here is my promise to you: I will show up authentically, listen with humility, and honor your self-determination.
I can’t wait to meet you!
