Professional Bio
Hi! My name is Marielle Kantzler and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 20 years of experience working in mental health. I started my career in child and adolescent psychotherapy. Many of my early career clients were in the child welfare system and had experienced extreme abuse, neglect, and exposure to violence. I then became the lead advocate and therapist for the 12th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in the Family Dependency Treatment Court. In that capacity, I worked with parents and families assisting them in reunifying and solidifying a future. From there, I used my experience working with families to broaden my horizons and begin treating individual clients of all ages. As this has blossomed, I’ve had great success working with people experiencing all kinds of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, attention/focus concerns, and life transitions. I have evolved into a psychodynamic, attachment-focused therapist but still espouse integrating psychoeducation, mindfulness, and acceptance into the therapeutic space.
I really enjoy my work as a therapist. It’s truly rewarding and gratifying to be a part of the change process and provide hope in a sometimes unsettling world. As I work through the therapeutic process with my clients, It’s amazing to witness people go from the first session to those “ah-ha” moments where all the dots connect.
I truly believe that therapy can be a life-opening experience. With the right guidance you can discover endless possibilities about your life, and make sense of things you never thought were explainable. This self-exploration and realization can equip you with the tools to change your life, and free your mind, body, and soul of needless pain and negativity. As your therapist I’ll be patiently guiding you through this process and doing my best to assist in whatever way I can.
When I’m not with clients, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and fur babies. I also love exploring the outdoors and learning new things. I can’t wait to learn more about you!
