Professional Bio
Hi! My name is Ellen Davis and I’m a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 7 years of experience providing culturally sensitive care. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with trauma, eating disorders, LGBTQIA+ issues, anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. My approach integrates evidence-based treatments such as EMDR, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, tailored to the unique needs of each client.
In therapy, you’ll receive both support and constructive challenge as you work to align your daily life with what matters most to you. We’ll cultivate a collaborative process where you are the expert on your own experiences, and my role as the therapist is to guide you toward living a life that reflects your values. Therapy with me is a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can share what you’ve been afraid to share with anyone else. I became a therapist because I’ve been there. I’ve personally experienced the challenge of struggling with mental health, and my own journey inspired me to help others find their strength and navigate their unique paths toward healing. I understand the importance of having a supportive, compassionate professional to guide you through life’s challenges. As a therapist, I am honored to witness and support clients as they learn to love themselves and heal from the pain of their experiences.
Keep in mind that it’s normal to struggle and that it’s normal to need help. We’re not meant to navigate life in isolation. We thrive when we connect with and support one another. Therapy has shown me the strength in vulnerability and the profound impact of compassion and community. It’s okay to need people; you don’t have to do this on your own. This is why I’m so passionate about the work I do.
So, if you’re looking for a therapist to help you grow towards a more fulfilling life, I promise to truly listen and pay close attention to your needs. I promise to both challenge and support you, empowering you to achieve your goals and live a life that aligns with your values.
Outside of my practice, I love spending time with my dogs, learning how to take care of my plants, and getting lost in a good book. I practice self-care by expressing my creativity through various crafts and playing in a community band. I find joy in spending quality time with friends and family, listening to live music, drinking good coffee, and being out in nature.
I’m looking forward to learning more about you!
Sincerely,
Ellen Davis, LPCC
