Professional Bio
Hi, my name is Emile, but people who know me call me Michael. Iām a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California, and I have years of experience working in mental health, counseling, and cognitive coaching. Iāve worked with a number of different counseling agencies in the Southern California area including the Los Angeles LGBT Center. During this time Iāve had the opportunity to help my clients overcome various mental health issues, recover from addiction, and solve relationship issues among other things. Resolving conflicts and improving communication skills are a central focus of my therapeutic practice.
Therapy is a second career for me. I began my professional life as a teacher and I worked in public education for a long time. My time spent working in LA public schools is a big part of what made me aware of the need for therapeutic intervention in peopleās lives. I became a therapist because I know that āthis stuff worksā and I believe that therapeutic intervention can have a great impact on our community and the lives of others.
Whatever you may be going through personally, I look forward to helping you make positive gains in your life and work towards your goals. As a therapist I try to make this process a collaborative one. Iāll support you in the process of self discovery and help you find tools to improve your situation. Iāll invite you to challenge my own thinking, and weāll learn from each other throughout the therapeutic process.
With that said, Iām looking forward to meeting you!
