Professional Bio
Hi! My name is Glynis Banks and Iām a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with years of experience providing individual therapy to clients of all ages and backgrounds.
I became a therapist because I realized early on, I had the ability to help guide people through darkness. It is another way for me to show compassion, empathy, support, and care for other people. Everyone needs help and Iām honored to be trusted with my clientās deepest secrets, with the goal of reliving the pain and finding healthy and effective solutions.
My approach to therapy is holistic and client-centered, influenced by my belief that oneās environment has a strong impact on their emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing. I incorporate warmth, humor, and genuineness into my work with clients so they can feel safe and comfortable engaging in introspection and critical thinking with me. Throughout this process of reflection, I work collaboratively with clients to compassionately challenge them and help identify barriers to goals. Ultimately, we construct a new set of narratives that bring about understanding, healing, meaning, and a stronger sense of self.
I believe therapy is a collaborative experience between the client and therapist, that each client has the resiliency and resources they need already within, and that it is our job to uncover them. I truly enjoy helping people improve their lives and overcome challenges. It is satisfying to see someone transform into a healthier person due to my professional assistance.
When I am not with clients, I enjoy being with my dog Ladybug (chihuahua-dachshund mix), binge watching Chinese dramas, indoor skydiving, ziplining, weight training, international travel, and spending time with friends & family. Looking forward to learning more about you!
