Hi! My name is Heather Parker and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker helping clients of all ages overcome mental health challenges and live their best lives. I’ve been practicing for over 15 years now, and over the course of my career I’ve had the honor of serving a diverse set of clientele facing various mental health challenges. Most often, I help clients experiencing things like depression, anxiety, grief, self-esteem issues, and adjustments to major life changes. Whatever you may be going through, I can’t wait to provide you with a safe space to talk about it.

My approach to counseling is generally client-centered and strengths-based. A client-centered approach recognizes that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to support you in a way that feels right for you. A strengths-based approach means we focus on what you’re already good at and what resources you have. Instead of just looking at problems and challenges, we highlight your skills, talents, and successes. The idea is to build on these strengths to help you overcome difficulties and achieve your goals. When these approaches come together, therapy sessions are tailored to fit your unique needs and preferences, ensuring that you’re in control of your journey. Meanwhile, you’re able to make tangible progress towards a better life by using your newly-identified strengths to your advantage.

As you learn about yourself and discover who you are, you’ll learn some tangible skills like coping strategies, calming strategies, and behavioral skills. With these new skills, you’ll get increasingly better at managing your life and living in a way that’s most fulfilling to you. We’ll focus on progress over perfection, and celebrate your successes along the way.
