Professional Bio
Hi, I’m Jennifer and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Georgia! Over my 22 years as a therapist, I’ve had the opportunity to support people through many different seasons of life, from feeling overwhelmed or stuck to navigating painful experiences and major changes. I have a particular specialty in trauma-informed care and PTSD, and I’m especially drawn to helping people who feel disappointed with how life is playing out or unsure of how to move forward. When it feels like you are standing in quicksand and cannot quite find your footing, I’m comfortable stepping into that space with you and helping you find a way through.
I often think of therapy like dumping out a 1,000-piece puzzle. At first, there are pieces everywhere, and it can be hard to imagine how they will ever fit together. We start by turning them over, looking at what is there, and maybe finding a few edge pieces. Little by little, things can begin to make more sense. Some of my favorite moments as a therapist are when we are sorting through thoughts and feelings together and something suddenly clicks. A new perspective emerges, a pattern becomes clearer, or you begin to see yourself and your experiences a little differently.
My approach comes from the belief that we are all doing the best we can in the time and place we are in with what we know. I’m not here to judge the choices you have made or tell you how you should feel. I want to understand your perspective, including what you have been through, where you are now, and where you would like to go from here.
You do not have to come into therapy knowing exactly what you need or how to explain everything you are feeling. We can figure that out together. I promise to listen, work to understand your perspective, and help you get as much as you can from this process. Whether you are working through trauma, feeling stuck, or trying to make sense of where life has taken you, you do not have to sort through all of the pieces by yourself.
