Professional Bio
Hi, I’m Jonathan. If you’re reading this, you’ve already done the part most people find hardest. Reaching out to a therapist can feel anxiety provoking and stressful, and for a lot of people it comes with a quiet sense of embarrassment they haven’t admitted to anyone. Just getting this far means something. It means some part of you is ready for things to be different.
I’m a licensed social worker with over twenty years of experience. I work with individuals, couples, and senior adults across a wide range of ages, and much of my work involves anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, PTSD, and struggles with relationships and intimacy. No two people arrive with the same story, so I don’t come in with a fixed idea of what your work should look like.
My approach is strengths based and client centered, built on cognitive behavioral therapy. Practically, that means we start by figuring out what you actually want to change, name goals that feel real rather than abstract, and build strategies to get you there. Along the way I’ll be paying attention to the strengths you may not be giving yourself credit for, and to the patterns in your relationships and behaviors that make more sense once you see them clearly. It’s the part of this work I’m most passionate about.
What I bring is full investment in your progress, and a setting that’s safe, confidential, and supportive enough that you can be honest in it. I believe everyone is entitled to a fulfilling life, and that the capacity for change is already in you. Most of the time it isn’t a matter of building inner strength from nothing. It’s a matter of taking the time to find what’s been there all along.
I look forward to meeting you.
