Professional Bio

Hi! My name is Kim Stone and Iā€™m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Iā€™ve worked in mental health for over a decade and throughout my career Iā€™ve helped clients of all ages work through a number of mental health challenges like stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, life changes, parenting issues, relationship issues, and abuse.

Counseling is a second career for me and one that Iā€™ve drawn great fulfillment from. Before I became a counselor I worked in loss prevention. Despite doing well at my work, I felt like I was a part ā€œthe problemā€ and not ā€œthe solution.ā€ I really wanted to find a career where I could make a difference in the lives of others, so I went back to school and obtained my masterā€™s degree in human services with a specialization in mental health counseling. I then became licensed as a professional counselor and since then Iā€™ve had the privilege of using my clinical skills and training to help others grow.

As your counselor I promise to be compassionate, understanding, and supportive as we work through your challenges together. No matter where you are starting from, change is always possible and weā€™ll work hard to identify ways you can use the skills you learn in therapy to make a positive difference in your life. When a client begins to understand and use therapeutic tools, it allows them to realize they are in charge and it makes all the difference. Those ā€œaha momentsā€ youā€™ll get from therapy can be more precious than gold. If you commit to therapy, it can open up a whole new world.

When Iā€™m not with clients, I enjoy spending time with my family (especially my 5 grandchildren), cooking different foods, and reading. I canā€™t wait to learn more about you!
