Professional Bio
Hi! My name is Kim Stone and Iām a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Iāve worked in mental health for over a decade and throughout my career Iāve helped clients of all ages work through a number of mental health challenges like stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, life changes, parenting issues, relationship issues, and abuse.
Counseling is a second career for me and one that Iāve drawn great fulfillment from. Before I became a counselor I worked in loss prevention. Despite doing well at my work, I felt like I was a part āthe problemā and not āthe solution.ā I really wanted to find a career where I could make a difference in the lives of others, so I went back to school and obtained my masterās degree in human services with a specialization in mental health counseling. I then became licensed as a professional counselor and since then Iāve had the privilege of using my clinical skills and training to help others grow.
As your counselor I promise to be compassionate, understanding, and supportive as we work through your challenges together. No matter where you are starting from, change is always possible and weāll work hard to identify ways you can use the skills you learn in therapy to make a positive difference in your life. When a client begins to understand and use therapeutic tools, it allows them to realize they are in charge and it makes all the difference. Those āaha momentsā youāll get from therapy can be more precious than gold. If you commit to therapy, it can open up a whole new world.
When Iām not with clients, I enjoy spending time with my family (especially my 5 grandchildren), cooking different foods, and reading. I canāt wait to learn more about you!
