Professional Bio
Hi, my name is Leslie Glass and I’m an LMFT licensed in California. I’ve worked in the mental health field for over 25 years, doing individual therapy with clients of every age. Along the way I’ve been the lead adolescent therapist at a psychiatric hospital and taught graduate and undergraduate counseling and psychology courses at National and DeVry Universities.
What drew me to this work was the people around me. Even as a kid I found real joy in listening to others and understanding how they thought and lived, and somewhere in there I developed the habit of listening for what isn’t being said as much as what is. That interest hasn’t worn off. I genuinely enjoy my clients and the rapport we build in sessions. I believe in unconditional positive regard and in the fact that no two people are the same, and I especially like learning about the cultural pieces of someone’s life and how culture shapes what they believe. I learn something from every person I sit with.
Most people come to therapy at a moment when a lot is changing, or when something needs to. Change is the hardest thing there is to do, and it takes more courage than people give themselves credit for. Part of what I offer is being someone in your corner while you find that courage, because it’s much harder to build resilience without anyone cheering you on. The courage I see in my clients inspires me to live my own life more fully, and I’m regularly humbled by what people accomplish in the face of adversity and uncertainty.
I’d love to get to know you, so come talk to me!
