Professional Bio
Hi! I’m Lauren Whitehead, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. The people I sit with come in for all kinds of reasons. Some are carrying an anxiety or a heaviness they can’t quite shake. Others are in the middle of something bigger, a loss, a divorce, a new baby, a change they didn’t see coming. And if what you’re holding feels too heavy to say out loud, I want you to know this is a safe place to bring it. My approach is warm, practical, and grounded in the belief that you already carry more strength than the hard moments let you feel.
No two people need the same thing from therapy, so I don’t work from a fixed script. With some clients, a lot of our work is practical, learning to notice the thoughts that pull you under and building steadier ways to respond. With others it’s slower and more reflective, making sense of the story they’ve been living inside and finding their footing again. And for those who want it, I’m glad to welcome faith into the room, though whether it plays any part is always yours to decide.
My favorite part of this work is watching clients grow, move past what’s been holding them back, and rediscover the strength they had in them all along. I believe deeply in the power of small, positive changes, and I’ve seen firsthand how much they add up. Sometimes a single kinder thought in the morning can shift the whole trajectory of your day, and the small shifts we find together can genuinely change the way you approach your life.
As your therapist, I promise to listen closely, to support you, and to hold a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly. Therapy is a journey, and I’ll walk alongside you at every step. Wherever you are right now, and even if you’re not yet sure what you want to work on, we can figure that out together. Sometimes just showing up for yourself is the first step toward lasting change. Find a spot on my calendar and let’s get started.
Talk to you soon!
