Professional Bio
Hi! My name is Mary and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). As an LMHC, I help my clients overcome mental health challenges using various psychotherapy techniques including CBT, DBT, and EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and Family Systems therapy. I have experience applying these techniques with a diverse set of clients across many ages and backgrounds.
I became a therapist because I’ve always been intrigued by people’s stories. We all have unique stories to tell and I enjoy listening to others to help them find balance and achieve their goals. While I am an expert in the mental health field, I am not an expert on the lives of my clients – they are the experts on themselves. My job is to use a person centered approach to help clients organize their thoughts, and focus their energy towards reaching desired goals.
As your therapist, I promise to approach you with a non-judgemental stance, and be a present listener throughout the process. I believe that therapy shouldn’t feel cold and clinical, and that it should feel like a natural conversation. So, I’ll be putting in the work to build rapport with you and form a connection. Connection is essential to healing, and I want to provide you with a safe place to land where you can be your most authentic self, and love your most authentic self.
I believe we all have the ability and strength to overcome life’s challenges, sometimes we just need a little help. Therapy is a great way to get that help.
Looking forward to meeting you,
Mary Braden, LMHC
