Professional Bio
Hi, I’m Mary, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin. I’ve been a therapist for about 27 years, and after all that time, I still consider it an honor when someone trusts me enough to share what they’re going through. Life can bring experiences that are difficult to make sense of on our own, and I love helping people work through those moments while recognizing the strength and capacity for growth they already have within them.
I especially enjoy working with people who are experiencing anxiety or struggling with relationships and family dynamics. Anxiety can make even everyday situations feel overwhelming, while conflict, disappointment, loss, or changes in important relationships can leave us feeling unsure of how to move forward. You don’t have to sort through all of that by yourself. Sometimes having a trusted person to talk with can help you understand what you’re feeling, see things from a different perspective, and begin finding your way forward.
My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, while also incorporating Person-Centered and Family Systems approaches depending on what you need. More than anything, I believe that a trusting relationship is at the heart of good therapy. I want you to feel heard and understood while also helping you recognize patterns, work through barriers, and develop the confidence and skills to make meaningful changes in your life.
One of the things therapy has taught me is just how powerful genuine connection can be. I believe therapy can help us break down some of the internal walls that keep us stuck and begin rebuilding a sense of safety, motivation, and strength. I’ll meet you where you are and put just as much care into the process as you do. And if I ever feel that someone else may be better equipped to support you, I’ll be honest about that and help you find the right fit. When you feel ready, I’d be honored to help.
