Professional Bio

Hi! My name is Meredith Simonds and I’m a licensed therapist serving clients in the state of California. I have a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, and experience assisting clients with a variety of mental health challenges. I started my therapy career working with older adults, including their family caregivers. I have maintained a presence in that community, while branching out to broaden my experience working with people of all ages. I commonly work with clients experiencing major life events like relationship conflict, career changes, health and aging, and grief.

I know how hard the journey can be, and I know how much it helps having someone to rely on for support along the way. Looking back, a big part of what inspired me to become a therapist was the positive experience I had in therapy when I was going through a major life transition. I was struggling and sought therapy for the first time. I worked with a couple of therapists during that transitional period, and they were equally wonderful for similar reasons. With them, I felt like they were genuinely interested in everything I had to say and never once judgmental of it. Those were new experiences for me, and the increased self-worth I got from that saw me through that life transition, and beyond. It is my hope to be that kind of therapist for you.

As a therapist I genuinely enjoy spending the intentional, quality time to really get to know someone. It feels good to lean into my natural curiosity, and a full understanding of my clients helps me build a more trusting and productive relationship. From there, you can think of therapy like an adventure. There’s a destination and a map for getting there. There are starts, and stops, and reroutes along the way. We’ll set tangible goals for your self improvement, implement strategies to achieve them, and adapt our methods as you and I learn more about you. When it’s over, you’ll be able to see and understand the story of your journey in a way that can continually inspire you.

So, if you’re looking for an engaged and empathetic therapist to help you be the best version of yourself, I’d love to work with you!

Sincerely,
Meredith Simonds, LPCC
