Professional Bio
My entire career has been devoted to serving older adults and their families. Working in a variety of settings has offered me a broad background of geriatric experience including: Alzheimerās and Dementia, family caregivers, chronic health conditions, senior housing, medical systems, family dynamics, support groups and psychiatry. Through all of these experiences, my focus has consistently been on mental health and well-being.
Though I majored in psychology in college and worked in a community mental health center before returning to graduate school, my true inspiration took place in my final semester. Not only did I find that the courses in gerontology and end-of-life issues stimulated my curiosity, they touched my heart and soul.
My career has taught me to believe in the goodness of people. Iām fortunate to have met so many people with truly positive intentions whoāve made a few mistakes in life. Our society tends to be critical of peopleās mistakes whereas I see them as normal growth.
Therapy is… the unfolding of coping abilities, insights and self-confidence while navigating the challenges of life with a warm and wise guide. I love listening to peopleās stories. The combination of history, relationships and experiences can generate fascinating conversations rich with reflection and wisdom. As your therapist, I promise to be by your side in a safe and compassionate relationship as you develop skills to strengthen your hope about your life and your future.
When Iām not seeing clients, I love traveling, going to the beach, singing along to the radio, and enjoying treasured moments with my friends and family.
