Professional Bio
Hi, I’m Sherilyn! I’ve been working as a mental health therapist since 2012, building a strong clinical foundation before opening and running my own private practice for nine years. I later expanded my experience in a mental health hospital setting and, for the past three years, have been providing telehealth therapy and counseling. I’m especially passionate about supporting individuals experiencing trauma and high levels of stress. I bring a calm, steady approach to helping clients de-escalate overwhelming situations while building practical tools to manage symptoms and move toward a more fulfilling life.
I was inspired to become a therapist through my own experiences. I had a wonderful therapist in high school who made a lasting impact on me, as well as an experience that showed me the kind of therapist I did not want to be. Both helped shape the therapist I strive to be today. This work is deeply meaningful to me, and I feel a genuine calling to help others. Over the years, I have learned so much from my clients, and I believe that while therapy can be a difficult and sometimes unfamiliar choice, it is one that can lead to meaningful, lasting change.
Therapy has taught me that life is rarely black and white. There is often a gray area, and within that space are choices that can lead to growth, learning, and acceptance. I live by the belief that you should never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life. I value balance, self care, and being fully present so we can show up for ourselves and others in meaningful ways. If you choose to work with me, I promise to be the ears to listen, the mind to learn, and the heart that cares.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, camping, hiking, and simply being present in those moments.
I look forward to meeting you!
