Professional Bio
Hi, I’m Shanakay. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience working with adolescents, teens, and adults across Georgia, Florida, Kansas, and Missouri. Life has a way of handing us more than we feel ready for, and when that happens, having someone in your corner can make all the difference. That’s the role I hope to play. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based methods, and I’ll help you build practical skills that create real, lasting change in your everyday life.
I especially enjoy walking alongside people through anxiety, depression, stress, and big life transitions. These challenges can feel overwhelming and isolating, but they’re also where some of the most meaningful growth and healing tend to happen. There’s something deeply rewarding about watching someone come to understand themselves a little better, pick up coping skills they can actually use, and slowly build the confidence to face life’s ups and downs with more resilience.
Over the years, therapy has taught me that everyone carries a unique story, and that beneath so many of our struggles is a shared desire to feel understood, connected, and accepted. I’ve learned that meaningful change doesn’t come from getting everything right. It comes from self-awareness, compassion, and a willingness to take small, steady steps forward. When people are given a safe, supportive space to simply be themselves, they often discover strengths they never knew they had.
To me, therapy is a collaborative process. It’s a space for growth, healing, and self-discovery, and a chance to understand yourself more fully, learn tools for managing what life brings, and create lasting change that fits your values and goals. My promise to you is to provide a supportive, respectful environment where that work can happen. And I hold onto a simple belief that guides everything I do: growth begins the moment you believe change is possible.
When I’m not with clients, you’ll find me spending time with family and friends, getting outdoors, and traveling whenever I can.
