Professional Bio
Hi, I’m Vicky, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. After more than 20 years as a therapist, I still find so much meaning in watching someone begin to see themselves, their relationships, or their circumstances differently. Sometimes the changes that happen in therapy are big, but often they start with a small realization, a new way of responding, or simply recognizing that things don’t have to stay the way they’ve always been. Being able to witness those moments is one of the reasons I continue to love what I do.
When we work together, I want therapy to feel like a partnership. You know your life and experiences better than anyone, and my role is to listen, understand what matters to you, and help you find ways to move forward that feel realistic for your life. I draw from CBT, DBT, systems-based approaches, and coaching, but I don’t believe therapy should feel like following a formula. We’ll spend time understanding how your past may be influencing what you’re experiencing today while also building practical skills you can use when life feels difficult.
I have a special interest in working with people who are navigating family challenges. Our relationships with family can have such a powerful influence on how we see ourselves and interact with others. I’ve seen how a shift in one person’s perspective or behavior can begin to change an entire family dynamic. Helping someone recognize those patterns and discover what they can do differently is some of the most rewarding work for me.
Over the years, therapy has reminded me again and again that none of us gets everything right. We make mistakes, we learn, and we keep growing. I believe therapy is an investment in your mental health and long-term well-being, and you don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. I promise to work alongside you as a team, celebrate the progress you make along the way, and help you work toward goals that are meaningful to you.
I can’t wait to meet you!
