Professional Bio

Hello, my name is Iria Sebastiao, and I am a clinical therapist with more than ten years of experience. I help people who are struggling with challenges such as anxiety, sadness, grief, and important life changes. My specialty is in helping people navigate life transitions, challenges with work or school, parent-child relationship issues, trauma, sexual abuse, cross-cultural relationship challenges, and relational and spiritual issues.

I am passionate about helping people find ways to live happier and more fulfilling lives, even during tough times. That’s why I became a therapist – to help people feel better about themselves and their lives. I believe that everyone has unique strengths and challenges that can be used to create a better relationship with life, regardless of their circumstances.

When we feel good about ourselves and our lives, we have a natural desire to positively impact others and our community. However, when we feel alone or like we’re not doing well, we may hurt others or isolate ourselves. When this happens, it’s a sign that we’re struggling and need help finding our way back to a sense of love and connection, and recognize what is good about ourselves. That’s where I come in – to help you find a better place with yourself and in your place in the world.

In our therapy sessions, I create a safe space where you can be yourself, ask questions, and explore new ideas. You can talk to me about what’s going on in your life, and we’ll work together to find ways to improve things. I’ll help you (re)discover your strengths and how to use them to overcome the challenges you’re facing. We’ll go on a journey together to help you feel better, stronger, and more connected to the people and world around you.

Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time in nature, traveling, learning something new, and spending time with my loved ones. I’m also an avid reader of non-fiction and, on occasion, I enjoy Improv Theatre as a fun mindfulness practice.

I am excited to learn more about you and help you on your journey towards healing and finding peace within yourself, your relationships, and your life.
